Both have a slim profile that fits the shallow window frames common in newer high-rises, both come in cordless or motorized options for tight, kid- and pet-friendly spaces, and both are easy to order in a white or neutral facing that satisfies most strata exterior-appearance bylaws. Zebra shades are a good middle-ground option if you want more light control from one shade.
Condo living raises a few questions a detached-home guide won't cover: strata approval, shared-wall moisture, narrow window depths, and access for installation in a high-rise. Here's how to think through each one.
Many BC strata corporations regulate what can be seen from the street or courtyard — often requiring a white or neutral backing on anything facing outward, and sometimes restricting colour, style, or even whether blackout linings are visible from outside.
